Pudsey Cake Pops Recipe
What better way to celebrate Children in Need tonight than with some tasty Pudsey cake pops. These treats would be lovely to eat as a family or you could make them to sell to raise money. I won’t lie and say they are easy to make but it is definitely worth the effort. The girls can’t wait to get their hands on them.
(makes about 8-10cake pops)
- 1/2 tub of ready mixed chocolate butter cream icing
- 1 madeira cake
- 500g bar of milk chocolate/ pack of yellow candy melts
- 1 pack of white chocolate buttons/ or use the candy melts cut in half
- candy eyeballs
- rainbow sweets
- lollypop sticks
- small chocolate beans
- black icing
What To Do
Cut off the sides of the cake and crumble into a bowl.
Mix the icing with the cake crumbs and roll into a ball. It should be quite firm. Wrap in cling film and put into the fridge for at least half an hour.
Put the sticks half way into the cake balls. I put them back in the fridge for another half an hour as they seem to stay on the stick better .
Melt the chocolate. I prefer to do this over a bowl of boiling water.
Dip the cake pops in the melted chocolate or candy melts.
To decorate add two buttons for ears, a brown chocolate bean on for the nose and the candy eyes. Ice a mouth using black icing. To make the bandage stick some chocolate beans onto a rainbow sweet using some of the melted chocolate and leave to dry.
Put in the fridge to set.
To display I use florists foam and stick them at different heights.
