100 Outdoor activities for kids | Here Come the Girls

100 Outdoor activities for kids

The weather has turned and Autumn is here – although instead of crisp breezes and falling leaves it has brought a deluge of nearly non-stop rain. Great. But before Summer is completely a memory I thought it would be good to look back over the Summer and think of all the things we got up to.

The twins turned three and Molly was six in June. It was a great start to the Summer, with finally a feeling that things were getting a little easier. I was slightly disappointed that the terrible twos turned out to be a bit of a misleading name and that the twins did not have their last ever tantrum on the eve of their birthday. However, while they can still throw a tantrum at will over wearing jumpers or not getting the right coloured cup, there have been fleeting moments when I have noticed a difference. Days when I have the left the house and not lost my mind. Days when they have actually walked in a straight line, without falling over, running in opposite directions, staging a sit down protest or thinking playing hide and seek in behind a moving lorry is a good idea.

This has meant I actually had times when I enjoyed the Summer, not enough to relax and let the let my guard down – I’ve learnt the hard way never to do that – but just to be able to take a minute and watch the girls playing and appreciate them – to actually start to have fun. Maybe next year I will be able to relax for two minutes.

So here is our list of things to do as a family

An amazing list of 100 activities to do outside with kids. Great ideas for family fun.
