Where your child centered ideas are the stars of the show!
The Sunday Showcase is now being hosted on SIX blogs!
This means more posts can be featured so make sure you check each of the blogs to see what posts have been chosen.
So without further ado here are my features for the Sunday Showcase. Yay!
The Showcase Features
Taken from last week’s posts
Pasta letter hunt from Little moments
This is a great activity for teaching initial letter sounds and for practicing fine motor skills. I now need to hunt down pasta letters, the only ones I know that we have in the UK are covered in tomato sauce. then again that would be a great messy play activity!
Bubble Wrap Letters and Numbers from Discover, Explore, Learn
This is such a simple and fun activity using bubble wrap to practice letter and number recognition. It could be adapted to suit any age, I’m thinking of colours for the twins – though I don’t think I’ll be letting them near pins for a while to come. Bubble wrap is so good for relaxing as well! Think how calm the children will be after this! Also check out their list of five maths activities for preschoolers for more fun maths ideas.
Bottle top ABC from Living in a library
Sometimes it’s so much easier to make resources to use at home than buy them. This bottle top alphabet is so simple and cheap to make yet works perfectly for practicing letter recognition and learning sight words.
Muffin Tin Maths from Plain Vanilla Mom
Finally one for older children, a fun way to practice number facts. All those times and divide facts get so boring to learn – well not this way!
If you were featured then grab the badge, you deserve it!
Handmade Thank you cards
This week we have been making and writing thank you cards. Although, this was for the twins and therefore they were not actually writing, this was a great start to literacy skills. They got to play at writing inside and it is a great way to practice fine motor skills as well as to begin to show gratitude.
