The Showcase Features
Taken from last week’s posts
Today was a crisp Autumn day, with blue skies and a slight chill in the air. The perfect day for getting the kids outside and in to nature. I love an Autumn day like that – probably even more than a hot Summer’s day which usually makes me so sticky and grumpy. These activities are great for getting out and about outside and learning all about nature. Hopefully it’s nice where you are too and you can get chance to do some of these lovely activities.
First Day of Fall from Putti’s World
There aren’t many brown leaves here yet but when there are then this activity has to be THE best thing about Autumn. It just shows having fun doesn’t have to cost a thing!
Daily Nature Walks from One Great Backyard
If that last picture doesn’t explain exactly why children should get out in nature then this post will. It has a fun way to encourage daily walks.
Autumn Cut Flower Garden from Simple Little Home
This is such a pretty idea. If there are any flowers left in your garden then why not make a cut flower garden?
Apple Picking from Kara’s Classroom
Another simple yet brilliant thing to do is go apple picking. This orchard looks amazing and such a fun experience for children. Think about all the delicious pies and crumbles you can make with the apples too!
Leaf Matching from Watch Me Play and Learn
A bit of sarly science here with matching and sorting leaves. It would be interesting to do this now and then in a few weeks when the leaves have turned brown and seeing the difference.
Things To Do With Carrots and Kids from Making Boys Men
We love a bit of potato printing but how about printing with carrots! This art activity is even better when taken outside. I just wish i’d grown some carrots myself!
Pinecone Fairies from RedTedArt
There is nothing better than collecting pine cones and other natural things on an Autumn walk. This cute idea shows what you can do with them when you have got them home.
Pinecone Aliens from Mummy Mummy Mum
If you aren’t a fairy fan then how about making some aliens instead. The added bonus of these ones is they actually glow in the dark!
This week on Here Come the Girls
