We can’t wait to go and see The Rise of The Guardians at the cinema. It looks a fantastic adventure – with all the girls’ favourite characters – Jack Frost, Father Christmas, the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny. I love how it has been given a modern – action hero twist.

Simon and Schuster have brought out some great movie tie-in books to go with the film. They range in ages and interest levels – and what is even better I have a full set to giveaway!

Rise of the Guardians

Guide to the Guardians:

Age 3-7 years

This is the perfect guide to the movie – find out about The Guardians and their adventures with this fun book, which also includes games, stickers and trading cards. this is good to read before you see the movie – so you can recognise the characters or great to keep the magic alive after you have seen the film.

Rise of the Guardians - Guide to The Guardians

Junior Novelisation:

8-12 years

This book is aimed  8-12 year olds and is an easy to read romp full of adventure and action. The twist on the characters is really good and will hook children who enjoy action or superhero movies. In this book The Guardians – who are all childhood fairy story characters must band together to defeat the Boogyman – called Pitch.

Jamie to the Rescue:

Suggested Reading age 5-7.

This book is a good read for a child just starting to read on their own. The vocabulary is a challenge for a five year old but they will enjoy reading it themselves – it feels like a more grown up book than  a reading scheme and brilliant for getting a child who loves comics and adventure stories to read. In this story Jamie finds it hard to believe in The Guardians but learns that in order to save the world you must believe in a little magic.

The Story of Jack Frost:

Age 4-8 years

This was by far our favourite book. Told through the eyes of Jack Frost – a really fun character who can rise the wind like a snowboarder and create massive blizzards whenever he wants. This is a great tie in for any child who enjoyed the film. Again a good book for reluctant readers.

Rise of the Guardians - The Story of Jack Frost

Made in the North Pole:

Age 4- 8 years

The elves on the cover of this book really made my daughter laugh. This is such a brilliant twist on the story of Father Christmas. Instead of little helpers the elves are actually cheeky mischief makers who wear the hats belonging to the yetis (Santa’s real helpers) as a joke. The book also includes stickers of all the Guardians, elves and more! A great book for the festive season.
