Happy New Year everyone.
I thought I would start the year by looking back to my favourite post from 2013. It’s so hard choosing a favourite. I have a few I really loved but most of them were seasonal and I wanted to choose something which you could do all year round. This post about threading using The Very Hungry Caterpillar from April seems to fit the bill. It wasn’t my most popular post although it did alright, especially on Pinterest with 8K shares and was 9 in most viewed posts from last year. My round up of Activities for preschoolers was the most popular.
I guess I loved this post because it combined two of my favourite things – the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which seems to be a universal favourite, and the activity of threading which is so good for practicing fine motor skills. The girls really loved it too. Molly liked using the hole punch to make the holes and the twins liked having a cute little caterpillar to use in their threading. It makes it so much easier to use a pipe cleaner to help but and also really brings the activity to life. This is definitely an activity which we must repeat now the girls are older.
