A short while ago we launched a competition to find the best DIY make over. The winner to receive a fantastic DIY kit from Unibond Go.

unibond go

While the entries have been coming in we have been testing the Unibond Go products. We used the silicone to reseal the bath and found it went on really easily and also dried quickly. The applicator was great and worked brilliantly and the size of the tubes was perfect for a job like a bath and sink. We remembered a handy tip to fill the bath first so it doesn’t drop when there is water in it. We used the acrylic to fill a few holes in the wall where someone may have leant on the towel rail when they were trying to paint the bathroom. No idea who that might be *ahem*.

DIY projects

I was realised amazed with all the entries which came in. There were some amazing transformations and it shows the care and attention people pay to their homes and gardens. I chose some of my favourites here. As you can see the standard was really high!

However there can only be one winner and I chose the living room make over from Julie Smith.

living room make over

I chose Julie’s because it was a total make over of a room and the finished result is really impressive. I loved the colour scheme. neutral colours can look drab but the feature wallpaper really made the difference. I love the way that many of the items, such as the rug, are the same – the mirror has been given new lease of life with a lick of paint and the personal touches like the photos and owl cushion are still there. This looks like a comfortable place to spend time.

fire place makeover

The thing I like best is the fire place make over. So many homes have old fireplaces like this and rather than ripping them out how much better is it to make something modern and stylish. I love the new tiles which compliment the room decor perfectly and the white wood sets it off perfectly. Congratulations Julie and I will arrange your prize straight away!
