This set costs £9.99 and is perfect for beginners. It has enough bands and clasps for 5 bracelets. The best thing is the really clear instructions which help someone who has not tried this craze before. It would have been nice to have had instructions for other ways of making the bracelets other than just simple – but they are easy to find on the internet.
The bands come in five different colours. The colours are really pretty and work well together. I also liked the fact these bands were a bit thicker than some of the cheaper ones on the market – it means they are a bit easier to make.
The set is recommended for ages 8+ My daughter is 7 next month but loved making bracelets and picked it up really quickly. In some ways being younger helps because their fingers are smaller and can make the bands better.
We soon found that making Rainbow looms is very addictive. It has kept my daughter happy for hours and the good thing is she can do this while she is watching television.
Each bracelet takes about twenty minutes to make, it is great for building concentration. You can stop in the middle if you need to though.
Once you’ve made the bands then you just use the S shaped clasp – they are so easy to put together.
You can choose any pattern and colour you want to create different effects.
Molly made bands for all her sisters. In fact every member of the family now has one. I think she should go into business.
This is my band. I love this craze because it appeals to boys as well as girls. I would definitely buy this set as a present for a child who hasn’t tried making loom bracelets before and who love to do crafts. It would also be a good set to have if you were wanting to occupy a group of Junior School children for a couple of hours – especially as it has everything you need inside.
