I love taking photos, so much that my phone is constantly running out of space. If I am going out for the day I have to delete all my apps just to have room to take more photos. When I was asked to review the iXpand Flash Drive for Iphone and Ipad from SanDisk, of course, I jumped at the chance. This handy little gadget can back up all the photos and data contained on the phone meaning loads of extra space.

The iXpand Flash Drive costs around £36, which is much less than the cost of buying a phone with bigger storage. We were sent the 32 GB model but you can also get a 16GB one if you don’t need as much storage.

The device itself is really neat and compact. You could have it attached to your iPad all day and not realise. You plug it into the charger point and download the free app from the app store and then are ready to go. The other end is a USB port so you can download all your photos onto the computer.

The app is really simple to use and once you have backed everything up will take very little time. It instantly connects to the phone and you can choose the photos or files you want to backup. You can also choose whole folders to back up if you have a lot at once.

It is easy to see what you have stored on the iXpand Flash Drive and it shows you how much space you have on both devices. The other feature I like is that you can back up your contacts. This is brilliant for when you switch phones as you don’t have to spend hours manually importing them.

The iXpand Flash Drive is a great little device which will free up so much space and turns my 16GB iPhone into a 52GB machine without needing to update my phone. Once installed it backs up automatically. You can even watch videos straight from the drive itself.I only wish I had got one sooner!

Disclaimer: We were sent the iXpand Flash Drive for the purposes of this review.
