Rainbocorns Sequin Surprise Review

November 4, 2018

I have a sneaking suspicion Zuru asked my daughters to invent the new Rainbocorns Sequin Surprise range of toys, without me knowing anything about it. It’s like they gave a checklist of all their favourite things and put it in a pot and out popped the Rainbocorns. Here is the checklist of what the twins aged 8 want in a toy

  • Cute animal characters
  • Soft and cuddly
  • Super large sparkly eyes
  • Colour change sequins
  • Mini collectables
  • A surprise you can unbox
  • Unicorn Theme

I might as well just pay my wages directly to Zuru – seriously this is genius.

I actually think the best thing about the Rainbocorns is the price. These cost just £24.99 which is a good price for something which looks as fun as these do. They would make a brilliant Christmas or birthday present and come in a decent sized container. Then again I guess the price needs to be low because they are so adorable the girls are going to want to collect the whole set.

All you have to do is unwrap the cellophane around the surprise egg and you are ready to start. The egg is bright pink and made of hard plastic so you can play with it after you have finished. On the front is a giant sequin heart. You can transform it to receive a clue about what is inside the egg. We were very excited to see a banana appear as we hoped that meant we had got a monkeycorn.

The egg is easy to open and inside we were delighted to find we had been sent a monkeycorn, called Loco.

There are 12 different varieties but this was the one we wanted most. The others are unicorn, bunnycorn, kittycorn, puppycorn and hamstercorn.

The monkeycorn is bright yellow with a shiny unicorn horn pink arms and ears, fluffy hair and a long tail. He has an adorably cheeky face and bright sparkly eyes. You can attach the sequin heart to his tummy.

The rainbocorns have such soft fur and are the ideal size for having a hug.

You can attach the sequin heart to your bag or even use it as a very large hair clip.

We were having such a lovely time playing with the Rainbocorn we forgot there was one more surprise inside. Zuru Rainbocorns come with cute, baby booboocorns inside a little egg in the lid of the big egg. You might even find twins! The Boo Boo monkey is a sweet yellow collectable with starry eyes. The girls have already put another Rainbocorn each on their Christmas list. They think they are adorable.
