Halloween messy play

Welcome to the

The Sunday Showcase

Where your child centered ideas are the stars of the show!

Sunday Showcase
The Showcase is a place to link up child centered blog posts. It’s full of fun ideas and lots of inspiration for activities to do with your children, I just wish I could do all of them! It was started by Bern at Mum to Two Posh lil Divas and Classified: Mom.

The Sunday Showcase is now being hosted on FIVE blogs!

Mom to 2 Posh Lil Divas
Here Come the Girls – (me!)
Inspiration Laboratories
The Iowa Farmer’s Wife
Train Up a Child

This means more posts can be featured so make sure you check each of the blogs to see what posts have been chosen.

So without further ado here are my features for the Sunday Showcase. Yay!

The Showcase Features

Taken from last week’s posts

Halloween is the perfect time for messy play. There are so many opportunities for messy and yucky play time activities. Most kids love getting messy – even if it can be a bit disgusting. I just wish someone else would come and clear it up afterwards!

Halloween messy play

Halloween Jello from Adamsinthenorth

Jelly (as we call it in the UK) is such a great messy play activity for young tots as it is edible so it doesn’t matter if they put it in their mouths. This one is given a fun Halloween twist.

Halloween Sensory Bin from BlogMeMom

A fabulous sensory bin full of Halloween items. I love the Halloween colour scheme.

Halloween Play Dough from Our Creative Fun

Homemade play dough is so much fun and the advantage is you can make it in Halloween colours.

Glow Play Dough from Four Little Piggies

You can even make you play dough glow in the dark. Lots of monsters here – but also some beautiful butterflies if you want a change from creepy things.

Mini Pumpkin Prints from What Do We Do All Day

Pumpkins are great for messy play – perfect to use for rolling in the paint. There were lots of great pumpkin painting ideas which are particularly messy linked up last week too.

Colourful Slime from You’ll thank me when you’re older

Although this isn’t labelled as a Halloween activity and the colours are slightly more pretty than you would expect – slime is a perfect Halloween activity. Such messy fun! This might be good for children who don’t like the scary side of Halloween.

Slime from Life with Moore Babies

Another slime activity – this time with halloween colours. Also check out the Fairy Potion from Life with Moore Babies – again not technically a Halloween activity – but the green version further down the post would be perfect as a witches’ potion.

This week on Here Come the Girls

Yes Day (Virtual Book Club)

We had a Yes day after reading the fabulous book by Amy Krouse Rosenthal for The Virtual book Club. My five year old was in charge of planning the day’s activities – what could go wrong?

Yeas day

Leaves and Pumpkins

We did lots of fun outdoor activities based on Autumn leaves. With some crafts and sensory play back at home. There is a pumpkin  and leaves link up here too.

Fabulous fall activities

Cardboard Box Dolls House

We made a cardboard dolls house to show off my dream master bedroom.

Perfectly Pumpkin Contest

Don’t forget to join in the perfectly pumpkin contest and link up any pumpkin related crafts, recipes and activities.
