The Showcase is a place to link up child centered blog posts. It’s full of fun ideas and lots of inspiration for activities to do with your children, I just wish I could do all of them! It was started by Bern at Mum to Two Posh lil Divas and  Classified: Mom.

The Sunday Showcase is now being hosted on SIX blogs!

Mom to 2 Posh Lil Divas
Here Come the Girls – (me!)
Inspiration Laboratories
Make Do & Friend
The Iowa Farmer’s Wife
Train Up a Child

This means more posts can be featured so make sure you check each of the blogs to see what posts have been chosen.

So without further ado here are my features for the Sunday Showcase. Yay!

The Showcase Features

Taken from last week’s posts

Apple Tree Farm from Honey Bee Books

I love Usborne books and especially the Apple tree farm books so I was delighted to see this lovely idea from Honey Bee books. The made a special meal and invited the characters to visit. This series is so wonderful for developing readers as there is a few sentences on one page for the children to read themselves. I love this way of bringing the story alive and wish I had been invited to such a lovely meal!

Over in the forest – from Famiglia and Seoul

I’m not familiar with this book but the illustrations look really beautiful. This activity would work for a lot of animal books. I love painting with marbles and it looks really effective as the animals’ tracks.

Eric Carle Seahorse from Mamas Little Muse

This cute little fella was made with sponges, bubble wrap and an egg box. It looks a great way to paint and creates such a brilliant effect. It looks so effective and what a lovely way to celebrate Eric Carle’s birthday.

The Tiger who came to tea by Rainy day Mum

This is one of our favourite books. I remember reading it as a child so it’s really special and we recently went to see the stage production which was fantastic. I would love the tiger to come to tea so this idea of role play really captured my imagination. I also loved the stripy tiger invitations.

Muffin Tins with Moose by Coffee Cups and Crayons

This family had a moose come to tea. Again this is a book I’m not familiar with but it looks great fun. The kids look like they are really enjoying the meal – and the moose as well. I like the muffin tin meals as well – a pretty way to present dinner.

Our Activities: The Worst Princess

This week we did lots of crafts about The Worst Princess, a brilliant book which turns the traditional princess tail on its head.

Flower Pot Biscuit Cakes

We also made these biscuit cakes. Rather a lot of calories but great fun to make and eat.
